Am 4. April 2013 hatte die „Impulse“-Crew Vinyl-Wunderkind und Dubplate-General Compa aus Manchester zu Gast im ://about blank. Nach seinem ersten Auftritt bei „Get Darker TV“ im März 2011 veröffentlichte er seine erste 12″ mit den Tracks „Sentence“ und „Beginning“ auf Boka Records . Gleichzeitig kam sein nun schon legendäres Bootleg von Mavados „Dem A Talk“ heraus, das innerhalb einer Woche weltweit ausverkauft war. Immerhin konnten wir noch ein Exemplar davon in der „Spacehall“ in Berlin-Kreuzberg auftreiben, als wir zusammen mit ihm durch Berliner Plattenläden streiften. Beim Blick aufs Preisschild wurde dann schnell klar, dass es sich um eine begehrte Rarität handelt. Für unsere Radio-Sendung hat Compa einen exklusiven Gastmix zusammengestellt, den wir Euch zusammen mit einem kurzen Interview präsentieren wollen. In English please: On April 4 we had the vinyl wunderkind dubplate general Compa from Manchester as a guest at the Impulse party. After his debut appearance on „Get Darker TV“ in March 2011, Compa released his first 12″ single on Boka Records (‘Sentence’ / ‘Beginning’) and his high-acclaimed bootleg of Mavado’s ‘Dem A Talk’. It had been sold out worldwide within one week of its release, so Compa and we were very surprised that we could find a copy at Spacehall in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Theprice indicated clearly that this record is a collector’s item. For „Impulse“ radio show, Compa prepared a guest mix which comes along with a short interview about his fast rise, his attitude towards his music and his future plans. Whilst operating his own white label series on WX/WL, you can catch Compa also on Sub FM every Monday 12 pm-2 pm GMT.
