Gegründet wurden The Orb 1986 von Killing Joke-Roade Alex Patterson und Jimmy Cauty, einer Hälfe von The KLF. Seit 1995 besteht die Band nur noch aus den Kernmitgliedern: Alex und und der Schweizer-Berliner Thomas Fehlmann. Vor kurzem veröffentlichten sie ihre hervorragende neue LP mit dem Reggae- und Dub Großmeiter Lee Scratch Perry. ED2000 hat The Orb bei Thomas zuhause interviewed und mit ihnen über ihr neues Album “The Observer In The Star House” und noch mehr Orb-Zeug geredet. Das Interview ist Vorbereitung für das anstehende 4-Stunden-DJ-Set im Tresor und widmet sich in der Gesammtheit den beiden außergewöhnlichen Pionieren der Ambient-Musik und der Dub Wise Grooves.
